Feeling versus Emotion
There is a lot of confusion around the two words "feeling" and "emotion". The understanding and observing the difference of these two different states o being within you will open up a door to more freedom in your life. There is nothing to do but to observe this while it is playing out in your life. The innate understanding will be there and in most cases people already do have a sensory awareness of it without being conscious about it.
A feeling is a sensory awareness. For example you are aware of your environment as in it is warm, there is wind or not if you are outside. You hear the sounds of your environment, you see the blue sky, the trees with their shape and their colours, you become aware of a texture of something you touch or you receive the flavour of something you taste. These are the primary senses that transmit the "data" to you. You might like or not what you are perceiving through your senses.
An emotion is your reaction to that something that you are perceiving. It is your mind putting a judgement on your perception and therefore invoking an emotion. As soon as the emotion has kicked in, a huge amount of energy is mobilised and used thus creating an energy that is swirling fast. Some kind of excitement is created and the energy is burned quickly. It leaves you feeling tired or even exhausted at times.
If you become aware of the difference of feeling versus emotion, you quickly will learn to discern and make better choices for yourself.
